  • Two wheels. Infinite willpower. One unforgettable Himalayan journey.

On 4th May, Panther and Nilesh began their cycling expedition from Manali to Leh via the remote and formidable Shinkula Pass. A route known for testing even the toughest of adventurers.

Their journey began in Dehradun, from where they transported all their gear and cycles to Manali. After spending a night acclimatizing to the altitude, they set out into the wild with nothing but courage, grit, and a spirit ready to face whatever the mountains threw their way.

And the mountains didn’t hold back.

They battled through ruthless winds, sudden snowfall, freezing temperatures, and some of the roughest terrains imaginable. At one point, they were even hit by a truck, forcing them to recover and ride on with bruised bodies and stronger resolve. Water was hard to find, and isolation became a companion. As they finally reached Leh, a new challenge awaited. The ongoing war-like situation in the region made it almost impossible to find accommodation or food, adding a fresh layer of uncertainty to an already intense journey.

Yet, they made it.
Every mile. Every hardship. Every moment of doubt, they overcame it all.

This wasn’t just a cycling expedition. It was a battle of mind over matter.

A complete blog of this thrilling adventure will soon be live on our official website, capturing every raw, real, and powerful moment of this journey, and offering a deep look at what it truly takes to cycle through the Himalayas.

For now, give it up for Panther and Nilesh. Two relentless spirits who proved what determination on two wheels really looks like.

  • Season’s First Summit – Friendship Peak (5,289m)

On April 29th, our Sherpa Escapes team became the first to successfully summit Friendship Peak this season – marking a proud and memorable milestone.

The journey began on April 26th with a strong team of six members and three porters. Our crew included 2 guests, local guide Chandarlal Ji, Support Team Anant Rajput, Cook Ravi Sharma, and Sherpa Escapes founder & Expedition Leader Rajesh Giri.

After proper acclimatization in Manali and Bakarthach, we moved to Lady Leg camp on the 28th and began our summit push at 1 AM the next night. By 1 PM on April 29th, three of our members (Anant, Chandarlal Ji, Kuldeep) stood at the summit, making it a triumphant climb and safe descent.

We returned to Manali on the 30th – tired but elated.
A big shoutout to the entire team for their effort, spirit, and trust.
Here’s to many more peaks and shared stories from the mountains.

Two wheels. At Sherpa Escapes, we started this journey to share these moments of learning and healing. Hiking isn’t just about reaching the destination; it’s about understanding, growing, and embracing the movement of life.
